Sophie was born in Worcestershire seven miles from the museum. Her great-grandfather, Canon Hastings Neville, was a curate in Kidderminster and one of his sons manufactured carpets in New Zealand, employing Richard Pugh Cook who was passionate about founding the Museum of Carpet, hence the connection.
