This week is the Big Give Christmas Challenge, when gifts made to carefully chosen charities can be doubled, thanks to matched funding.
The child literacy charity Schoolreaders has an ambitious £60,000 target this year, which will enable volunteers to reach another 1,500 children with weekly one-to-one reading support.
